Questions

Short answers about Edge Design Works — Daniel Montero’s New York interior design studio, the Design Journal, product references, the visual workspace, and private consulting. For a project, write design@gildedge.com.

What is Edge Design Works?

Edge Design Works is Daniel Montero’s interior design and visual room studio in New York. It publishes the Design Journal, maintains a curated luxury product library with official maker references, offers a visual workspace for exploring empty rooms, and provides private consulting for concept, sourcing, and specification. Film work is credited to Lumier Studios. Parent company: Gilded Edge Group LLC.

Does Daniel Montero offer private consulting?

Yes. Daniel Montero offers private design consultation; single-room concept and specification; whole-home creative direction; furniture, lighting, art, textile, and object sourcing; and spatial editing with presentation-ready visual studies. Write design@gildedge.com with the room type, location, project stage, desired scope, and timeline.

What is the Design Journal?

The Design Journal is a series of fictional before-and-after concept studies by Daniel Montero. Each story begins with an empty room or a disclosed earlier study; an AI-assisted finished image shows design direction; and the schedule names visible furniture, lighting, art, textiles, and fittings. Official maker links identify products where known. Dimensioned stories state concept dimensions, placement, and fit notes — not surveyed measurements of a client property.

Are the journal rooms built or commissioned client projects?

No. The published journal rooms are fictional design studies with AI-assisted visualizations, not photographs of completed client commissions. Locations are story settings, not addresses of client homes. A private project begins with the client’s actual brief, site information, measurements, and a written scope.

Are linked products available to buy as shown?

Not through Edge Design Works as a storefront. Product cards and schedules use official maker pages as the source of product identity. A rendered product form is illustrative — it does not prove exact configuration, scale, availability, price, endorsement, or image rights. Edge Design Works does not claim every linked item is in stock or available in every shown finish. Confirm those details with the maker before purchase.

Can I use the workspace without an account?

You can preview the workspace publicly. Image generation is available only to invited, enabled accounts in the pilot. Generation access requires registration, an invitation, and an enabled account. You can explore empty rooms and build a room-specific source list from curated references.

Can I publish or build from generated images as-is?

No. AI output can change geometry, materials, scale, views, fixtures, and product details. Compare any generated or edited study with the original room, and verify physical measurements and product specifications, before purchasing, construction, or publication. Human review is required.

Is the workspace the same as consulting or construction documentation?

No. The public workspace is a preview, not a private consulting engagement. Its visual studies are not permit drawings or construction documents. Private consulting is arranged by inquiry and scoped in writing; technical drawings and construction coordination require a separately agreed scope and appropriate licensed professionals where required.

Where do you work?

Edge Design Works is based in New York and takes residential work in select high-value US markets by inquiry. Concept work often begins remotely from photos and measurements; site visits are quoted when needed. Design Journal rooms set in other places are design studies, not branch offices.

How do fees work?

Design and creative direction is billed at $300 per hour and scoped with a written fee limit before work begins. Design fees are separate from furnishings and maker purchases. See Engagement for structure, or write design@gildedge.com with your room type, location, stage, scope, and timeline.

Who is the parent company?

Edge Design Works is a Gilded Edge Group LLC venture based in New York.
